Ramón works with mouthpieces made by virtually every major commercial and custom maker, representing more than a century of French clarinet mouthpiece design, from the classic models of the early twentieth century to the present day. These include:

• Other custom designs (Pyne, Kanter, Gennusa, Hite, Langenus, Portnoy, Wurlitzer, Borbeck, Pillinger, Eaton, Nagamatsu, Jenney, etc)

He works on Bb, Eb, bass clarinet mouthpieces – also German, Austrian, Reform Boehm and simple system mouthpieces.

Clients are welcome by appointment in Ann Arbor, and Ramón accepts mail-order requests worldwide.

Alongside his work as a clarinettist and clarinet mouthpiece craftsman, Ramón has also performed professionally as a saxophonist in a wide range of musical contexts, from dance bands to large-scale symphony orchestra.  In London, his work included performances in a variety of settings, most notably with the BBC Symphony Orchestra (including radio broadcasts), the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and West End Musical productions.

Ramón has worked with professional saxophonists from around the world and have given classes for the students at institutions including Northwestern University, the University of Michigan and the Guildhall of School of Music and Drama.  

He offers refacing, restoration and consultation for classical and jazz saxophone mouthpieces across the saxophone family.
