Every mouthpiece represents a unique combination of design, craftsmanship and musical intent. Successful refacing and restoration demands more than technical skill–it requires an understanding of how the mouthpiece’s maker intended it to play. Over the course of my career I have had the privilege of working with professional musicians worldwide, studying, refacing and restoring countless commercial, custom and vintage mouthpieces. This breadth of experience gives me the perspective to approach every project with the knowledge, respect and appreciation for the original maker’s intentions. 

I work with mouthpieces by virtually every major commercial and custom maker, representing more than a century of French clarinet mouthpiece design, from the classic models of the early twentieth century to the present day. These include:

• Kaspar (Chicago, Cicero, Ann Arbor)
• Vintage French Design (Chedeville – Henri / Charles, Lelandais, Goldbeck, Bettoney, Meliphone, Selmer, Robert, Penzel Mueller, Bonade, Malerne, Buffet, etc)

I work on Bb, Eb, bass clarinet mouthpieces – also German, Austrian, Reform Boehm and simple system mouthpieces.

Clients are welcome by appointment in Ann Arbor, and I also accept mail-order requests worldwide.
