Wodkowski Clarinet Mouthpiece Catalogue

The Collection

Throughout my career, I have been fascinated by the many voices of the clarinet and its remarkably expressive possibilities. Years spent working firsthand with professional musicians from across different clarinet traditions has exposed me to the mouthpieces and concepts that shaped their playing – this has become the foundation of my work. The models presented here are the result of that study, each developed through a rigorous process of design, manufacture and refinement to offer a broad spectrum of models for players to choose from.

Design & Craftsmanship

Every one of my mouthpiece designs begins as an idea – a wish on my part to create a distinct personality. The research that informs these designs draws upon years of studying carefully selected mouthpieces, using high-resolution CT scanning, extensive measurement and play testing. Each design is then drawn using CAD design, and precision CNC machined from the finest ebonite available before being individually hand finished, hand faced and voiced by me, where its musical character comes to life.

Catalogue Philosophy

Rather than pursuing a single style of models, this collection reflects the breadth of my study and work. From traditional close facings long favoured by many players in North America to the more open concepts found throughout Europe, each model has been developed to embody a distinct musical and technical character.

Reference Models:
The reference models listed are included to help players navigate the collection. They provide other makes which are in a similar facing family (although not the same), and can be seen as familiar points of orientation, offering a general indication of where each design sits within the catalogue. This enables players to make more informed decisions about which models are likely to feel familiar and which may represent a different playing approach, helping them identify the most appropriate place to begin exploring the collection.

ORDERING

All orders are handled personally by me. Communication with my clients is an important part of the process, allowing me to develop a better understanding of individual requirements and to offer guidance in selecting the most appropriate designs to try. The aim is to bring together my experience as a maker with each player’s preferences, creating a more efficient and bespoke approach to mouthpiece selection.
